Resolution Runs

Nothing like 3 posts in a row to make people think you are a crazy blogger!!

Yesterday was a lot of fun! We just played games, ate pizza (way too much and way too salty, I am so bloated today!!), and watched the countdown. We celebrated on East Coast time, we had yummy sparkling apple cranberry cider and then crashed out.

Because I was up until after 11 I didn't get up to run this morning before work. That meant I had to get my resolution runs in after dinner. Traditional New Year's Day dinner is beans in our family, which I love, but beans do not make for the happiest running tummy!! I got my 5K for Daily Vitamin K's last run of the holiday run series and then I got in a mile for RunToTheFinish's Resolution Fun Run. I got my 4.1 done in 43 minutes, not my best time, but I felt pretty great so I'll take it!

In case you can't read my resolution it says-
"Run at 26 minute 5K"

I am done posting for tonight! Now I'm going to relax and get ready for bed after I finish watching a HORRIBLY creepy movie The Resident!

  2. Nice job getting your runs in! Is beans on ny's from a particular tradition? My mom always made pork and sauerkraut, with mashed potatoes. We don't make it now, but she still does. :)

  3. Thanks Shannon.
Laura, its a superstition thing, eat poor on the first and eat rich for the rest of the year. I continue it just because I like the idea of an ongoing tradition and I like beans!

  7. Your NYE sounds much like ours: food filled and low key but fun! Way to get the run in.
I could not find black eyed peas for the life of me!
