A Time Capsule - HAWMC Day 1

This month is Health Activist Writers Month and every day a new challenge is posted for people to write about. Today's challenge is to write about what you would include in a time capsule to be opened in 2112.

There are so many things I would want to include in a time capsule for someone to open in 2112. First would be photos of my family and descriptions of who they are.

My amazing girls

Love this man

My parents (stolen from my mom's Facebook)

After that I'd include (in no particular order) -

A pair of my favorite running shoes

The medal from my first half marathon this year, to show that I did it.

Fuel - Since I've gone paleo I'd put a Larabar and some Nuun in there.

My Garmin - I don't run naked so the Garmin is a must for me.

My running playlist - the songs that keep me going.

I would also include some of my very favorite books, those I've read alone and those I've read with my girls. Most likely that would mean just throwing my Kindle in the capsule.

And then I'd include my wishes that those who find and open  my time capsule are happy and healthy. That our world is happy and healthy. That there aren't wars raging, that hunger and obesity aren't issues. That beauty is about strength and intelligence, not the size of a waist or a chest. That people are still running and loving and living in a world that I home my great great grandchildren are enjoying.

What would you include in your time capsule on your healthy living journey?
The Health Activist Writer's Month Challenge hosted by WEGO Health. I will be writing a post a day for all 30 days. You can join me in writing every day about health. It's going to be a lot of fun and I'd love to see what you have to say about each of the topics, too. All you have to do to join is sign up here: and and write up a post today, since its already APRIL!! Looking forward to writing with you!

  1. First of all, love that your dad is done with his Margarita and is so excited about it and your mom is just halfway done! (Assuming it IS a Margarita!)

Second, in 100 years, someone is going to pull your kindle out of the time capsule and wonder what this ancient machine is. By then, people will be buying contact lenses that have books written on them...they'll just have to shut their eyes to read or something!

Third, when they see your playlist they'll think back to their "Now That's What I Call Music! Volume 100" and reminisce about the crazy things we listened to 100 years ago!

  2. I love adding the paleo stuff, and really I love all you would put in it! Its fun to see how we interpret things!

  3. so fun! love the pic of your girls! i think something significant of my journey would be pictures of how unhealthy i was a few years ago but how i have changed that now!

  4. If you put in stuff about the paleo diet, people would have to google it and be like "Oh yeah...that fad" haha

    1. They probably won't even get the concept of real food because it will all be manufactured.
