Tuesday Talk and Whatever Happened to the Streak

First, don't forget to enter my giveaway here, it ends on February 11th at midnight.

Second, I haven't mentioned what happened with my streak. I made it to 58 days and really thought I could keep it alive! When we got to Disneyland I didn't run on Friday, we walked so much I was willing to call that day a pass (I know it couldn't be an "official" streak then, but it's my streak so my rules). After the half I was so sore that I realized that I had to let it go, I ran twice last week and both were mostly walking. I am so so sad that the streak is over. BTW, every time I say "the streak" I think of The Streak by Ray Stephens, my grandma had his tapes when I was a kid and they made me laugh every time!!

I ran this morning and I'm going to call it an actual run! Yay! I felt good too! I'm still going to take it slow and I'm going to only run 3-4 times a week and add in more cross training. Tonight we are going to dinner with one of hubs fishing partners and his wife. I can't wait for pizza!! Then it's days off, woo hoo!! Although I don't have anything exciting planned, just the usual shopping, volunteering, cooking, and cleaning. I lead a very scheduled exciting life!!

Question(s) of the day?
What are your exciting plans for the week?
What is your favorite type of cross training?
And most importantly, what is your favorite type of pizza?

  1. You did great with your streak. 58 days is a long time!!

    My rules are basically this:
    1 mile every day
    or 30 minutes walking
    or 30 minutes workout

Its funny how my 30 minutes walking always ends up over a mile.

Fav type of pizza is hard to say, I like plain cheese, or the weird stuff. Im not a fan of meat or supreme pizzas.

    1. Thanks! I know 58 days is good, but I wanted to do more, and I will!! For now I'm going to work on my strongs a big!. I know you're not a huge pizza fan (weirdo!!), I love the weird stuff!

  2. Hey! I gave you a shout out the other day about your awesome streak! http://chix20chix.blogspot.com/2012/02/pups.html

I prefer to bike when I don't run, but I really just like running!

I like mushrooms and green chile on my pizza. Pepperoni and pineapple is also a fun choice!

    1. How did I miss that post! Thanks for the shout out! I love mushrooms! I think we're gettin chile verde tonight, yum!!

  3. You had a supa streak (can't wait for you to start streaking again....) Not so sure I have exciting plans for the weekend!?!??!? But after the last 2 jampacked weekends I think not so exciting is just what the Dr. ordered. I love cross stitching~just haven't done it much of late - eyes are getting old (huh?? oh you said cross training?! my bad) PIZZA - yum pepperoni for me please :-)

  4. That's an awesome streak! So impressed!
My week so far seems to be SICK KIDS and a sick mom. So much fun.
My favorite form of cross-training is spin class, but I don't have a gym membership anymore- sad :(.
I love most all kinds of pizza- but LOVE love a good pesto chicken pizza.

  5. I think your streak was great! And it capped off with a half-marathon. That's awesome. Congrats.

I love a gooey pizza with pineapple and veggies. Yum. Mouth watering now.

  6. first you rocked the streak! that is a crazy amount of days to keep it up! so inspiring! and i am so glad you have been listening to your body and taking the break when you need it...doesnt make your streak rock starness any less awesome :)

  7. Wow! I am in awe that you ran 58 days in a row. That is amazing! I can only run 2-3 days in a row before something starts acting up.

My favorite type of pizza is mushroom, black olive, and tomato. Yum!

  8. Such an impressive streak, way to go!! Pizza sounds amazing... I think we're making our own tonight, I love to pack it with veggies and add feta cheese or olives if we have them.
